Busan Metropolitan City Infectious Disease Newsletter August 2024 Let’s Prevent Whooping cough by Vaccination! !! The highest occurrence in 10 years for the same period !! Incubation period: 4-21 days (7-10 days is the average) Infection route: Transmission by droplet infection from patients or carriers, highly contagious Key symptoms: paroxysmal cough with the sound of whooping, vomit after cough, breathless, etc. <Please check out your vaccination history> Basic vaccination First 2 months old Second 4 months old Third 6 months old Additional vaccination Fourth 15-18 months old Fifth 4-6 yrs old -> DTaP Sixth 11-12 yrs old -> Tdap Seventh and more 18 yrs or older, adult -> Tdap or Td* * Vaccination every 10 years * If no Tdap vaccination history, one of the vaccinations is recommended with Tdap. Also, please keep up the cough etiquette! Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or sleeves when cough Wash your hands with soap on the running water at least 30 seconds after cough Wear a mask when you have a respiratory symptom Throw away used tissues or masks into the trash box immediately.
